When you think LuLaRoe, you probably think leggings. Whether it’s a good or bad association, the leggings are what made LuLaRoe popular. I’m not here to argue about their leggings. It’s a weirdly polarizing issue.
For people who do wear LuLaRoe leggings, you might have noticed something weird about the weather. It’s almost like the temperatures are getting….higher? Oh right, it’s spring! That’s bad news for LuLa-Lovers: your comfy leggings will soon become a sweaty heat trap.
Luckily for you, you don’t have to give up LuLaRoe for the summer. There are lots of ways to wear their comfy clothes without sweating off your leg muscles. I’ve been asked a few times about wearing LuLaRoe in the summer, so today I’m going to show you some warm weather LuLaRoe styles.
1. Cassie Skirt
The Cassie skirt is a stretchy pencil skirt. It comes in thinner and thicker materials. For summer, I highly recommend not wearing the quilted fabric Cassie skirts. However, if you’ve got a lighter fabric Cassie hanging out in your closet, spring is the perfect time to bring it out. Pair it with a Perfect Tee (pictured), a Classic Tee, an Irma, a graphic tee, your favorite blouse, or even a flowy tank top!
2. Irma Tunic
The Irma is a wardrobe staple for me. I could wear one every day if I had enough of them! The Irma is a high-low oversized tunic. Basically, it’s a loose-fitting tee shirt with some extra fabric in the back to cover your butt. That makes it perfect for wearing with leggings, but you don’t have to pack it away in the bottom drawer when it gets warm out. I love pairing the Irma with shorts for a casual day at the park, but you can wear it with skirts, or size up and use it as a bathing suit cover!
3. Perfect Tee
The Perfect Tee is an A-line tee shirt with small slits up the side. Wear it plain for a peplum look, or change it up by tying one or both sides. As a true short sleeve shirt, the Perfect Tee lends itself well to a summer wardrobe. Try it paired with a Cassie or with shorts! The Perfect Tee also goes well with the other LuLaRoe skirts if you’re not a Cassie fan.
3. Classic Tee
The Classic tee is just that. Essentially, this is a plain tee shirt that’s slightly longer in the butt. Use it the same way as a regular tee shirt, or try it tied over a Carly dress to change the look of the Carly.
4. Carly Dress
The Carly dress is a high-low short sleeve tent dress. In the winter, I like to tie a sweater over my Carly, then add fleece leggings and boots for a layered look. I brought this look to the summer by exchanging the sweater for a Classic and ditching the leggings. You can also wear the Carly belted at the waist, or let it hang loose. There are tons of Carly styling hacks on YouTube and Pinterest as well. (Try the Carly over a Cassie like in this post!)
4. Amelia Dress
The Amelia Dress is a dress with a fitted bodice and a loose, pleated skirt with pockets. It looks like something you’d wear to a tea party! Amelia is perfect for summer weddings, dinner parties, or just because. Try adding a belt to change the look.
5. Monroe Kimono
The Monroe Kimono is my new favorite LuLaRoe style. This layering piece comes in lightweight fabrics and features a fringe, which I love way more than I was expecting to. The Monroe is perfect for wearing with a maxi dress, with shorts, with skirts, or as a cover-up for a bathing suit. If you’re feeling bold, try it out with shorts and a crop top for a fun festival-inspired look.
Several other LuLaRoe styles can be worn for summer as well, including the Azure skirt, maxi skirt, Madison skirt, and Joy vest. Sadly, I don’t have time to touch on every way to wear LuLaRoe in hot weather!
