It’s week 12 of my pregnancy, and things are looking up thanks to prednisone! Well, looking up is a relative term as I remain on a mainly liquid diet, but eating solid-ish foods (oatmeal and mashed potatoes) every OTHER day is a great prospect considering how many times I’ve lied to doctors about being able to eat to keep from being admitted overnight. Other than my newfound passion for all things juice and smoothie, how has this pregnancy been treating me? Let’s look and see!
This week, Critter is the size of a lime. Or, according to Ovia, my favorite pregnancy tracking app, the size of a ripe apricot. Of course, Ovia! An unripe apricot just wouldn’t be a good comparison, now would it? My next appointment is on Thursday, at which we discuss my medication regimen and plan the next ultrasound. Critter is just now being able to be heard on a fetal Doppler, and has an extremely rapid heart rate! This will go down with gestational age increases, although my heart rate is likely to stay elevated throughout the pregnancy thanks to a POTS flare.
